HEY, I’M NICK…
My opportunity to become a full-time coach and mentor arrived in October 2021, and I grasped it with both hands. For me, coaching and mentoring is something that keeps giving.
Before explaining more, let's take a very quick tour through my career of more than forty years. This took me to most parts of the world, running operations, leading projects, building service products and solutions, creating client engagement, and contributing to the growth of our business and those of our clients.
The skills needed to successfully work in such a diverse cultural and commercial environment included active listening, careful questioning, perspective-taking, empathy, strategic thinking, planning, negotiation, and relationship development.
I studied for an Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Level 7 Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring at the Executive Level, which was awarded in February 2023. My business launched in February 2023 and I now help leaders to unlock their potential through coaching.

My career goes back more than forty years, during which I have travelled extensively, led international programmes, and guided businesses to improve customer engagement.
Customer Experience Management
I worked in Customer Experience Management outsourcing for over twenty-five years until 2021. This is a demanding and varied environment where Monday might be spent with a global consumer electronics company working to improve processes, Tuesday helping a leading fashion brand manage customer service social media. Wednesday with a disruptive fintech looking to create differentiating customer experiences and Thursday involved with a global banking giant to comply with complex regulations.
Then, on Friday, I might facilitate a forum discussion including all of these, as they seek solutions to common business challenges.
I was tasked with defining, developing, and executing products and services that improve the customer experience and customer service performance. These services helped Sales, Account Management and Operations teams to establish excellent relationships with clients while increasing the scope of our agreements and creating outstanding reputations.
Logistics
The earlier part of my career involved leading teams that managed the movement of goods internationally. We created global distribution frameworks, tackled complex reverse logistics projects, and set up new fulfilment centres in several countries.
In many cases, this also reduced distribution costs and transit times dramatically, helping clients to get their products to customers cost-effectively and quickly.
Cultures, Challenges, and Solutions
Over the last thirty-five years, my roles took me to many countries where I worked with people in varied cultures. This developed an adaptable and agile approach to people, local customs, established practices, and professional aspirations. I’ve worked with global corporations in North America, Europe, and China, as well as start-ups and small companies in Sweden, Germany, The Netherlands, Italy, and the UK.
My career progressed through operations development, product marketing, corporate strategy, and enterprise marketing. Each have their own key metrics but all contributed to the success of the business.
Today
Being naturally curious, I ask a lot of questions. I also listen carefully and attentively, and I love helping others.
Each coaching assignment is customised, unlocking personal, professional, and business potential. Clients achieve high-quality outcomes. Relationships and team performances improve. Goals are clearer. Work is fun, engaging and rewarding.
By cutting through the busyness, noise, and pollution, each person soars above the clouds into clear blue skies above. And then they begin to enjoy doing what really matters.
As a coach, I am privileged to accompany my clients as they do this.

... when I'm not working, I might be in the workshop. Projects are a great outlet for creativity and provide practical development opportunities, too.
I love fixing things, figuring things out, talking things through, sharing insights, understanding how things work, and so forth.
